Yes. The Free tier has no restrictions on personal or commercial use. You can use Comet at work, on client projects, or for any purpose without paying. Companies typically upgrade to Team when they need centralized billing, SSO, or shared connections.
Your subscription price automatically decreases each year you renew. Pro starts at $79/yr, drops to $59/yr in Year 2, and $49/yr from Year 3 onward. Team follows a similar schedule. You don't need to do anything — the discount applies automatically at renewal.
You keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier. All your data, connections, and queries remain — you just lose access to Pro-only features like AI chat and advanced history search.
Bring Your Own Key. Comet's AI features use your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible, or local CLI tools). Your queries and data go directly to the AI provider you choose — Comet never sees your API traffic. This means no per-query costs from us and full control over your AI provider.
Yes. Pro includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. You get full access to all Pro features to evaluate before subscribing.
Yes. If you're a Pro subscriber and your company adopts Comet Team, your remaining Pro subscription value is credited toward the Team plan. Your admin can add you as a team member and billing transitions automatically.
